| Wireless Flat Planel Display! http://www.viewsonic.com/products/airpanel100.htm I thought it was a wireless flat panel display but it wasn't. It just uses the Microsoft Remote Access to remote control a computer. But the idea is quite modern. Apple Remote + Air Panel + Classroom with lots of Macs = Good management without wasting cost of one admin/host computer. Any idea?

| It's not possible, you need power remember? And then you would have to use batteries. And then it would almost be like an iBook or PowerBook again... |

| But that AirPanel has a slower processor, embered OS (WinCE .NET) and no hard disk and CDROM. Just like a device with a low cost. Also, it is 2lb only. Why doesn't Apple make a iRemote as $US400?

| Yeah turhfully I would love to see this sort of tihng for the Mac. Hell, as someobdy pinted out on slashdot just running a VNC client on one of these pads would theoretically work fine. So technically all Apple needs is a small lcd with maybe 128mb of ram expandable to, i do't know; 1gb for kicks, an airport card/bluetooth adapotr (which would proably be a lot less useful as the range is osmehat limited). They go add some tablet functionality to it and embed a small firmware VNC client. Hell you could wander aroudn your house and use your desktop from anywhere. This would beat the hell out of me having to buy a laptop to go outside and sit in th shade to do stuff. And the battery life would be insanely great. The iBook get's what? 5 hours battery life? well this is just running the lcd, whatever processor, airport, ram, maybe some compact flash drive or something for data storage. I'd be hot and would certianly fit into the digital hub strategy. ooo and with bluetooh somebody could probably hack a way to liek make this tablet into a universal remote too... with apple style!
