| Gosh, I've been missing this ever since Sherlock 2, which introduced 'The New Slowness of Finding Files™' to the Macintosh. Avie: "Hi Steve. Okay, what's on your mind?" Steve: "I've been thinking. If a user wants to find a file and is presented with an application called 'Finder'. Why should he have to start up this bloated piece of internet content finding application called 'Sherlock' that we've pushed for all those years now? As a user I think it would be normal to use 'Finder' for finding stuff on his system." Avie: "Glad you're asking. We're thinking about integrating 'find files' and 'indexing' to the Finder." Steve: "Proceed." ![]() ![]()

| Much more logical... The "Search" feature was integrated in to the Finder toolbar in the Public Beta. Why they removed it was beyond me. Very glad to have it back...

| They probably took it out because they couldn't add the additional file-searching overhead to an already incredibly slow Finder. Even in 10.1, adding a find file thing would have been a lot more to deal with (especially indexing). Jaguar takes care of that. |

| I am glad it is back too, but my desktop has been indexing since 12am and it is now almost 7am and it is still chugging away...how do you adjust the indexing preferences beyond which language is indexed for Find By Content?

| Yea, glad its back as well. Works wonderfully fast. Sherlock was so slow in previous versions that I would drop to a command prompt and do a locate for instant results. |
