Apple aquires Silicon Grail

The rumors about Apple buying Silicon Grail are true. Their program RAYZ, now only runs on Windows, Linux, and Irix i think. RAYZ is a high end film compositor. It sounds a lot like Nothing Real's software. From MacCentral:

"The news of Silicon Grail's technology acquisition follows other similar moves from Apple as the company continues to expand its influence into the professional film production industry, including the company's acquisition of compositing software maker Nothing Real.

An Apple spokesperson confirmed for MacCentral that they had acquired technologies from Silicon Grail and said only that "Apple intends to use the acquired technologies in future products." "

This sounds pretty cool if Silicon Grail's technologies gets implemented into either a new future product (SHAKE??) or a new version of imovie or something.

Heh, you're not kidding. Looks like Apple's going on a shopping spree in the high-end video editing market.
