Apple has released OS X 10.5.5. The Combo Update weighs in at 601 MB.

I'd be interested to know if any of the "extensive graphics enhancements" relate specifically to issues with NVIDIA cards in the MacBook Pro range...

As far as I know, the Nvidia problem is a hardware-related problem, and not fixable by a software update... that is, if, in fact, the MacBook Pro Nvidia problem is the same global Nvidia problem that Nvidia is being sued over.

Yes, I would agree. My thoughts were about whether or not Apple might try to modify the fan usage as Dell had, although it does not actually solve the problem.

If only one could download hardware updates as well......

Heh... well, we're not too far off -- they do have self-replicating printers, now. They're still a tad expensive (oh, $50,000 or more), but definitely real!

Well the extensive release notes from Apple are here. Also MacWorld release an article called A deeper look at Mac OS X 10.5.5 to get a good update on it.
