Talking Microsoft Caught Using WAREZ

I just read this on another forum i go to and found this funny!
Quote:
An anonymous reader writes "German PC-Welt magazine reports that Microsoft used an illegal copy of SoundForge 4.5 (Google translation) for editing Wave files shipped with Windows Media Player. You can check that yourself by opening any file in the [Windows location] \Help\Tours\WindowsMediaPlayer\Audio\Wav\ folder in notepad or other editors of your choice and looking at the last line. There you will find a reference to SoundForge 4.5 and also a user called 'Deepz0ne' who happens to be one of the founders of an audio software cracking group called Radium."
Source: Slashdot

can anyone with a copy of windoze nearby confirm this?
Made me chuckle!

Sorry, I found no such file on XP. There were only wav files in this directory.

yes. as it clearly says."open ANY file in a text editor and the last line has reference to SoundForge and DeepZ0ne". This is 100% accurate. I checked this on two machines at work, pre and post SP2. no doubt microsoft will release a "patch" that resolves a "severe security issue" with some wav files..

Well, I guess we can forgive Microsoft for that. You have to understand that they have some major problems coping with the fact that so many people use Windows without actually having paid for a license, so they figured they'd use _some_ applications illegally themselves. It's a give and take kind of thing. :P Hilarious.
