Parallels and Symantec Backup Exec

We are trying to recover server and workstation images to a virtual machine in parallels desktop using symantec backup exec. Has anyone tried/been able to recover images this way? We can get Backup exec to run, see the images and attempt the recovery, but at the very end it blows up.
