3rd Party Drivers?

I'm trying to install an embroidery program (Bernina) on the XP partition of a macbook pro with boot camp, but somewhere down the process the installation always hangs with a small box generated by installer that says 'Installing 3rd Party drivers'. After this the install program is using 0% CPU indefinitely and only 'End Task' will shut it down.

The program successfully installed on on Dell laptop, and for a while I thought the problem was that SP3 was installed on the XP. Uninstalling SP3 resulted in no change in install outcome, and did cause some other broken programs.

The program has a USB security key for authentication, but we can't even get that far.

Any & all suggestions would be welcome. Thanks

David

Macs do not have BIOS (but EFI). It might be that the installation tried to add some stuff
to the bios (for authentication support) and since it did not find any, it halted.
