Star Wars vs. DVD Player

Anybody else having trouble playing the new Star Wars DVDs on OSX DVD Player 4.0? I have tried two Episode 4 (A New Hope) discs and in both DVD Player hangs in chapter 26. I have to wonder if Georgie Boy has stuffed some crap in these that "normal" DVD players are not sensitive to.

Have you tried cleaning the cd and then trying it again? Maybe it just got some schmutz on it.

clean dvds

I tried two brand new spotless rental dvds from Blockbuster, and I tried them on a PowerMac and a PowerBook.

I've noticed that our DVD player stutters a bit halfway through the first and second DVDs... Very strange.

I'll try it, but I have a SuperDrive and it might handle it more gracefully than your computer has. Are you using a DVD drive, combo drive, or SuperDrive?

[EDIT] Worked flawlessly on my iMac G5.

Could that stutter be when it changes layers?

My SuperDrive and my combo drive both hang in chapter 26. I had a friend check and his Windows XP machine stutters in about chapter 28.
