H&k Soundsticks Not Working After Upgrading to Tiger

HI - recently upgraded my G4 400 tower to Tiger, after a few initial hassles all sorted - only continuing problem is that my Harman Kardon soundsticks no longer work. Google searched this problem and saw a few others had the same problem but as yet no one has a solution any ideas of how to fix problem?

yes - that's the strange thing - they show up ok, but when selected - even as default, no sound. Tried another suggestion of going through Utilities - Audiomidi settings, changed them all to soundsticks but still no joy, no audio. It's definitely recognising that they are there. The speakers definitely still work too - I have been able to test them on another machine thats still running os9. For some reason the Tiger upgrade has obviously messed up the output?
