Which cheap cellphone works best with iSync?

I am a cell phone virgin or neophyte. I am trying to find a cheap no=thrills cell phone for Search and Rescue work that does the following:

1. text messaging
2. works with USB iSync

Can someone recommend a boring cheap but reliable phone? Can only Motorolla's sync using USB (as reported on the Apple site)? Cheap is good. Thanks.
