Firewire to HD recorder

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone know about streaming the video signal from my mac via the firewire to ex. an HD-recorder. Perhaps I am able to stream only movie files via imovie or another program like that, but I would like to know if firewire could work like the normal video output.

You want the Mac's video to go to a harddrive. You'll need a simple screen capture program. Those are used for instruction videos where you show how to handle an application, for example.
