delay switching apps

hi, I've noted that when i switch from other app to photoshop 7.0.1 w/alivec update there is a little delay very annoying that don't happen in os 9
i have a G4 350 pci graphics w/512 mb of ram
is my mac too slow to handle ps 7 or is a ram issue?

i'm guessing it's a photoshop issue. PS wants total dominance while it's running and takes up lots of memory - perhaps more than you have available memory to accomodate if you are doing memory intensive tasks. since memory allocation works differently in x than 9, you get this slight delay.

i can't say - i have the same ram as you and i just know PS just felt horrible to use. i was only using the trial version. I complained about problems it was giving me and i was informed about the way it uses memory. it expired today and i completely deleted it. i learned how to install and use gimp and i think i will stick to it from now on.

I think you can set how much ram ps can use, try playing with that (in settings)

I have a TiBook 667mhz, 768mb ram and I don't have any problems with PS7. I'm running 10.2.4 and it's working flawlessly.

I also use it at school on a Quicksilver, not sure on the specs, but it doesn't have the delay there either.
