My macbook is dead, please help

Hi,
I have a macbook which is just over a year old, it has been working flawlessly, however, I shut it down earlier today (normal shutdown) and now when I try to turn it on nothing happens.
It is totally dead and unresponsive.
The battery is fully charged, I tried another battery from my brothers macbook and it makes no difference, my battery works fine on his macbook.
I have searched online for info and have tried all the various key combinations on start up to get it to book up, but it is still totally dead.
I'm really worried that something majorly bad has happened but I don't know what could have as it has not been touched between the perfect shut down and now, I the last time I used it was a couple of hours ago.
Any suggestions on what I can do will be gratefully appreciated,
thanks for reading
Julie

Since any troubleshooting beyond the steps you've already tried would involve opening up the Macbook, I'd suggest you get it back to your Apple dealer (or call Apple) and have it repaired. There is a very good chance that it will be under warranty.

Try connecting the charger. My battery often reads 90% when the iBook shuts down. The only recourse is to connect the charger.

Now fixed

Hi,

I have just got my macbook back from Apple.

The problem was with the power on button, which is now fixed

Thanks for all the replies,

Julie
