How long has the current MacBook been available?

I'm looking at buying a MacBook, but I'm not sure how long it's been around in its current form. Apple site is confusing it says "Late 2007" but it's the UK site and also says 11/1/07 which is 11th January 2007 in the UK. Or does the UK site link to the US site for basic data? And mean 1st November 2007?

What I'm really asking is "Is there likely to be a new model early in the new year?".

DeltaMac will become famous soon enough
The current MacBook (up to 4GB memory, and upgraded x3100 video) introduced early Nov 2007.
Going by past history, no changes to the MacBook next month, but with the Intel processors, this can easily (and quickly) change. My own prediction is that Apple will introduce a new laptop model, adding to MacBook and MacBook Pro. Probably something really small, or simply very thin and light-weight. We'll all know within the next couple of weeks. Check it out later in the day on Jan 15th.

I would never buy *anything* Mac or iPod related this close to a Macworld Keynote, which is only two weeks away now.

This time next week we'll be guessing at what the Keynote will bring. Ultimately, we'll be half-right, and half surprised by something we hadn't expected. In the background of it all will be the moans of a handful of people who brought product X on Jan 3rd, feeling 100% happy that they were getting what they wanted for the amount they were willing to pay, and now that product Y is announced have decided that Apple are evil money-making madmen who screwed them over.

So, this close to Macworld, even if Macbook isn't one of the likely candidates for an update this time, I'd still sit tight for a couple of weeks.

MacRumors Buyer's Guide is somewhat of a good buying guide to when to buy or expect and upgraded Mac.

Yes, but still: No purchases until 15th. There are always rumours, there are always educated guesses, but right before such a big and _known_ presentation of *all* things Apple, buying would be bad.
