| The SIIG card driver may be giving you problems. But, first change one of those 500GB drives to master, and try again. If they are both connected to the same bus on the SIIG card, then you should have one master, and one slave. Should also work with both set to cable select, but check the documentation with your SIIG card. Both set to slave should _not_ work.

| They were both initially set to master on different bus and cables. Mac documentation says the Ultra ATA will not work with cable select, so I started with them set to master. The SIIG documentation is a joke! |

| Then, you have 2 drives connected to the SIIG card. Jumper one as Master, and the other as slave. You should also try the SIIG site for possible updated drivers, or firmware updates (or try acard - they make the SIIG cards. ) http://www.acard.com.tw/english/fc01.jsp

| It's the card. SIIG just sent me an email. It's a known problem to them that the card does not work with "large" Seagate drives! WTF!! From: SIIG Support [help@siig.com] Issue Number: 52703 Date: 04/14/2008 Time: 16:29:58 Click here to view Issue in Browser Problem Description: Entered on 04/14/2008 at 16:29:58 by Trung Pham: Hello, Please try to return the card thru your direct vendor. This is a known problem with only the big Seagate hard drives that we currently do not have a solution for it Trung Pham 510-353-7542 |
