Movies from camera to iMac

iMac G5 PPC, OS 10.4.11

A Fuji S5700 camera with 1 Gb SD card connected via USB cable to the iMac. Two movies on the card will not transfer to the iMac via iPhoto (automatically opens), or via the card reader in a Canon printer. The movies do show in the LCD display of the camera.

Secondly, the camera card will not mount as an Untitled disk image on the iMac desktop, and is not viewable via Disk Utility.

One other movie on the SD card did transfer successfully to the iMac via Iphoto. It is in .avi format.

Suggestions please as to the cause of the impasse, or what might be done to retrieve the movies.

MisterMe will become famous soon enough
There are dozens of threads on this forum already that deal with your issue. Your camera is working as expected. Non-miniDV/HDV, non-FireWire camcorders cannot be expected to work with iMovie '08 unless explicitly listed on Apple's iMovie '08 web page.
