| I just upgraded from a Quicksilver G4 to a Dual G5. I have an external Tritton DVD+RW drive, and on the G4 that was my only way to burn DVD+RWs. However, with the G5 I can now burn them in Finder, using my Superdrive!! I first need to do a "full" (not quick) erase of the disk, but then I can mount it in finder and burn/validate successfully. Far out!! Unfortunately, this did not, as I had hoped, enable me to use them as backup media using .Mac's Backup 2. It always errors out. Arghh!! Anyone else have any luck with this?

| Nope, DVD+RW is only supported in the Finder for now. Perhaps a future update to 10.3 will bring compatibility with the applications you'd like.

| Huh? Just in the Finder? You mean you can't burn DVD+RWs with Toast for example? Weird...

| Um, I don't think he meant that. I can still burn them in Toast, but I thought that the ability of Finder to burn them might mean that any app using Apple's disc burning toolbox (like presumably backup, fer instance) would be able to burn them. Nope.
