synching iCal and Palm

Can someone point me to a 'how to' site to do this? there are plenty of statements like 'use isync'; 'convert to vcal files' .... but no step-by-step instructions. Apple's ical page suggests it is a built in function and has a link to Palm which is dead.

thanks

I don't have a Palm here to test with, but I would assume that you'd need to first set up the device in iSync. Do this by selecting "Add Device" from the "Devices" menu while the device is plugged in.

Next, click on that device's icon in the iSync window. The window should expand, giving you access to a lot of syncronization options and what-not -- the ability to sync calendars should be in there somewhere.

No luck

You would think that would be the case, but iSynch tells you to use HotSynch manager, which doesn't recognize iCal

You need to install the Palm Desktop software. Once you get the software configured, and talking to your Palm, you then need to setup the Conduits from Palm Desktop to work with iSync. iSync will then use Palms HotSync manager to get the data from the Palm device, and sends it to iCal/Address Book/etc. See the bottom of http://www.apple.com/isync/tipsandtricks.html for info on how to configure the conduit. It also has a link to download the iSync Palm conduit.

Solved..thanks

This is the solution. I was unaware of the conduit program. The link shown leads you to the download site a walk-through. It worked perfectly, first time.

Thanks again

I have done all of the above, it says everything has synced and nothing happens. My ical does not sync with my date book on my Palm. Any ideas?
