USB Compaq S200 scaner won't work in OS X

I have a USB Compaq S200 scanner that isn't recognized by Readiris Pro, OmniPage, ImageCapture, or Vuescan in 10.3.2.

Apple System Profiler shows
Compaq S200
Speed=Up to 12 Mb/sec.
Product ID=33 ($21).
Bus Power (mA)=100.
Vendor ID=1183.

Has anyone gotten this scanner to work in Mac OS X?

Did you try the latest version of Vuescan? My Umax Astra still has no support under OS X. Yours might be another model that works in OS 9 only.

Sorry, I obviously didn't read correctly. Did you contact HP (who owns Compaq)? When I checked for a driver update, it does not show that your model is even supported for OS X.

yah i know it's not supported. But I find it very strange that it's info comes up perfectly in Apple System Profiler and it doesn't work at all. In the past when I've put in unsupported SCSI and sound cards the System Profiler just completely ignores it.

This time it's saying I see it but haha you can't play with it and it's pissing me off.
