Question Microsoft Trackball won't scroll

hi,
I have a wired microsoft trackball on my laptop. With Panther on applications like Appleworks 6 and Filemaker Pro 6, it's won't scroll in the documents at all. It scrolls on the desktop and everywhere else.

The Microsoft software is Intellipoint 5.0 which is the latest as per their web site downloads for this piece of hardware.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get this trackball to scroll. I know it is the software because my microsoft tracking mouse on my imac using panther also won't scroll.

Lastly, as much as I do like my microsoft trackball, what other brands of hardware have worked on these 2 programs, especially Filemaker Pro, with scrolling? Kensington is the only other brand familiar to me.

Many many thanks if someone can help me get the microsoft trackball to scroll with Panther on Filemaker or direct me to another source that may have the solution.

Have you updated to AppleWorks 6.2.9? Scroll wheel support is supposed to have been added:

I couldn't find anything on the lack of scroll wheel support for FileMaker, though.

Thank you for the update on Appleworks so that it will scroll.
The program that I really use the most is Filemaker Pro 6 so if anyone can tell me how to get this to scroll, that would be FANTASTIC!!!!!

mark

PS I noticed that on the "read this first" of the Kensington software that they say that their scrolling doesn't work on Filemaker Pro either.
