Question Scanner as fax machine

I have a HP 1210 All-in-one Printer/scanner/copier that I would like to pair up with OS X's built in fax capability to use as a fax machine (at least on occasion). So to do this I scan an image as whatever format I feel like, open it in preview, chose print, click the fax button, and off it goes. This is great, however I have two issues with it.

1) This procedure works fine for single page documents, but how can I get a multi-page document?

2) I would much prefer that this all be automated: double click something, and the 1210 scans the document, preview opens, and the print dialog pops up set to fax and ready for you to enter your info. I would think that I could do this with AppleScript, however the HP Scan software does not appear to be scriptable. Any ways to get this to work?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide on these questions. Actually, I am most interested in answers to #2, as if I can get that working I can probably work around the multi page problem myself. Thanks.
