| Swap Dvd drive on powermac g5 Is it possible to swap the dvd drive in the powermac to another internal drive. The reason I ask is that I would like to install a dual layer dvd+/-R drive, which will also do 16x recording. |

| Yes, from a labor point-of-view, it's very simple. If you've ever replaced a CD/DVD drive or a hard drive before, you should have no problems at all. The only thing you should take into consideration is "native burn support" for the new drive under OS X. If you're thinking of installing the drive I think you are (Pioneer DVR-108/A08) then you won't be able to use the drive natively with OS X. You may be forced to use third-party burning software, like Roxio's Toast, to burn CDs/DVDs. You can overcome this limitation by using a program called "Patchburn" available here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/25100
