Stuffit Lite installer crashes in 8.1 EVERY TIME!

is there any way I can open .SIT files without using Stuffit Lite? Every time that I download it, the thing crashes my mac!

i'm trying to get this Hotline client so i can... umm... get the last supported OS for this system... since i'm a cheap@$$
