Doom 3 Won't Start!

Hi All,

I just bought the Doom 3 DVD and installed it - and it starts, the screen goes black, then quits. I don't have the crash log in front of me, but I think it says something about the .PK files (?) Anyway if anyone has had this kind of a problem, any help would be greatly appreciated. I've read something about unpacking the .PK files, but it's a little vague.

PS, I've updated it to v. 1.3.1 and it still does this. My system is:

Gigabit Ethernet G4, 1.5 Ghz
OS X 10.4.11
Radeon 9800 Pro
