Unhappy HELP!! Spinning mouse ball icon??

I have uncovered a problem with my mac G5 when I tried to shutdown.
I had earlier installed a software demo and then uninstalled it (later found out i did this incorrectly)
I then could not delete these (associated with demo s/w) files from trash.

jack_coreaudio.so
jack.framework
jackd
jackrouter.plugin
libjack.0.dylib

Following this I have a problem with my computer not shutting down or restarting as well as the
mouse icon 'spinning rainbow ball' is seen -spinning- ONLY when I hover the mouse over the date, time, sound etc icons in the top right of the finder title bar.
The time has also stopped in the title bar!
I opened system preferences to see if I could access these items from there eg the sound, time etc but NO!
System preferences then freezes!! So I force quit it.

I downloaded the unistall again, but only got this msg:

rm: /Applications/Jack/Uninstall JackTools: No such file or directory
rm: /Applications/Jack: No such file or directory

[Process completed]

I then repaired permissions using disk utility. No luck!

update:
Since this I went to activity monitor and found the 'jackd' process name.
I forced quit this..still the spinning ball!!

I tried to find my G5 spec but apparently I cannot access then from the 'about this mac' under the apple menu!!!
I cannot access the force quit window either. Only the sleep function albeit it very delayed??

PLEASE HELP ME

This is a new work computer (ie not my private one)
I hope its not f**ked or I might be too!!

((Demo software info: http://www.jackosx.com/
However I decided it was not what I wanted/was looking for.
I quit application application and unistalled.
However I DID NOT STOP IT FIRST, IT WAS RUNNING.
I also did not adhere to this note from website:
uninstaller (place decompressed file in /Applications/Jack before running) (1 KB) (January 28, 2004))

Cool

All (well nearly) is well now!
I resorted to switching off at the mains and then booting up the computer

I think it was a problem with the finder app as upopn restart the desktop icons were default size and I had to re customize toolbar and preferences.

One problem still remaining is that I have no audio from my internet browsers (when opening audio enhanced websites or mp3 streams within browser) nor real player and quicktime. iTunes seems unaffected though???

any ideas?

This is on Mac OS X Server? If this is audio software, you may have better luck in one of those forums.
