connect vista to internet through mac

my mac leopard has wireless but my vista doesn't
I am trying to connect my vista to the internet through sharing using the ethernet cable but I don't remember how to do it. I tried changing the lmcompatibilitylevel from 3 to 1 but it didn't work, i turned on internet sharing on the mac and file sharing on the vista. help please?

Your Mac settings should be as follows



In regards to your Vista Box, make sure your Ethernet Port is set to DHCP and turn off your firewall. IF you don't receive and ip address immediately open up Command Prompt on your Vista Box (Start Menu>Search "cmd") and type in "ipconfig /renew" and see if that forces your box to recieve a new IP address from your Mac.
