Unhappy help! tweeky things going wrong with my iBook >.<

alright i have a few really odd thingss that have been happening to my laptop

1) I can't install the 10.1.5 combo update because it's asking for the 7-18-02 update whitcch i already installed

2) none of my users can save in the documents folder except root (duh )

3) my computer randomly logs out while trying to open some apps (different apps at different times.) restarting usualy helps.

4) OS 9 randomly stoped working maybe i am missing some system files?

5) iTunes disapeared. i got it back by pulling it off another computer but i can only get it to work in root because none of my users can save in there documents folder (see # 2)

if anyone could help with any of the problems (# 1 & 2 are the bigest) i could really use it

Sounds like permissions problems are cropping up. How many people are using this Mac ? Anyways get this free utility called MacJanitor, @ http://personalpages.tds.net/~brian_...acjanitor.html or look for Apple's Repair Privileges on version tracker . If that doesn't clear things up try booting up in single user mode - Just after the bong startup sound hold down the command and s keys. After you get a prompt, type fsck -y . If you have errors, retype the command again and again until no more errors are reported. When finished just type exit to finish starting up. HTH
