Problems Installing Remote Desktop

Hi, I am having some problems when trying to install Apple Remote Desktop.

I have downloaded the latest version from apple.com, but when opening the installer, my system disk is marked with an exclamation mark. There is also a message saying "cannot install because of missing file: index 18", or something like that.

I have tried to repair permissions for the system disk, but it did not solved the problem. I have also tried to rebuild the desktop file, but again, nothing happens.

What is Index file 18? Is it supposed to be on the system disk and why can´t it be found?

Please help me out!
