| For wmvs, you can download Windows Media Player and play them with that, or buy Flip4Mac's WMV decoder ($9.99) so you can play them with QuickTime. For .vid, I'm not quite sure. I've never seen a .vid file. My advice is to try VLC, and maybe Windows Media Player (I assume you've already tried QuickTime Player, right?). Hope this helps. |

| I've never seen a VID file either, but I'd recommend you try out VLC, Windows Media Player, and MPlayer.

| cool I like this I am comming from linux, and use unix with mac , is so diferrent, cool so far mac are nice. still missing open source tools like kate, gftp, but tx any way |

| You can get Kate to run on Mac by selecting it through Fink. See http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/search.php?summary=kate Ditto for gftp: http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/search.php?summary=gftp Fink is a program that makes it easy to select Unix packages and install them. It is closely related to the Debian package management system.
