Font problem

Hey guys,

I have a font installed on my hard drive that I want to use in one of my 3D animations using Maya. However, when I open up the menu in Maya that allows me to select a font that I want to use, this particular font isn't there. I have the font installed using Font Book in both my user and computer folders. The font that I'm trying to use is available in all of my other software programs (Word, Flash, Dreamweaver etc), but not in Maya - strange! I am just wondering if anybody has any explanation for this?
