preview problems

for some reson preview preview won't respond any more.it will startup when i click on an image or a pdf but wont display anything and i get the little rainbow circle thing spinning until i force quit it
any ideas

try trashing com.apple.Preview.plist in user>library>preferences

repair permissions with disk utility. If it doesn't do the trick let us know which version of OSX, you are using more infos means better answer
