Image Capture Problems under 10.4.3

Just updated to 10.4.3 and now I am having major problems with Image capture. I primarily use this app for getting images off my Rebel XT and into folders on my HD.
Th program quits continuously and thumbnails for CR2 Raw files show partially cutoff in varying amounts from the bottom up. They show partly grey.
After the app quit for the third time, it offered to let me ditch the prefs and reset them to defaults. This seemed to help the quitting problem, but the cut off thums are still there. Anyone else having similar problems?
