Getting weird temp files in my trashcan

Hello, I searched on this, but found nothing.

For the past week or two, every time I turn on my Mac my trash can shows up with something in it. At first I thought I had just forgetton to empty it, but I am kind of anal about this so today I stopped to see what was in it. In the trash is a directory "Recovered files" and within that were two files, temp00000000 and temp00000001.

The contents of temp00000000 are:
AUS00000000000000000000QFN0000011011004010000401003 0000002004d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e00000000

The contents of temp00000001 is much larger with a huge list of banks: For example -
01797 York Educational FCU http://www.yefcu.org 717-843-1153 http://www.yefcu.org ACTIVE BANKING&WEBONLY NOT_QBP NA

I do use Quicken 2005 and every time I go to link up with my Bank it can't find it the first time, but this has been going on for a year at least and I have never seen these temp files before.

Any ideas what these temp files are about, why they are showing up and how can I stop this? I am 99% sure I have no open apps when I shut down, so why I am getting recovered files? I am running OS X 10.4.2

I believe anything in your temp folder is put into the Recovered files in the trash each time you boot.
