| I think TinkerTool allows you to do this. (at least it did under 10.1, but I haven't used it in a long while)

| Apple have changed how screenshots are captured in OSX 10.2. It is now done with part of the graphics system called Core graphics, and is essentially a single frame capture in the default display format, which is display postscript, and then saved as an uncompressed PDF. This means that the original image format can only be PDF, though you can later export it as jpg, if you desire, or use the key command that captures the screenshot to the clipboard (Apple+Option+control+ 3 or 4), from there you can past it into preview using the 'New from Pasteboard' menu option.

| Actually it's CMD + CTRL + SHIFT 3 (for entire screen) or 4 (for selected area or press the space bar and it'll only take the window or a menu... you'll see a camera show up). JeffCGD is right though.... no more saving directly in JPG anymore.... although an Applescript could take care of that farely quickly... ![]() |

| Kunvert does the job Go to Versiontracker and look for Kunvert, a small freeware application which sits in the dock and can - like a droplet - instantly convert screenshot PDFs in JPG. Simply drop your files onto the Kunvert icon and you're done. Easy, uh? |
