CityZen X is on a distinguished road
QuickTime, Sherlock, System Preferences, Gone!!

I have a OSX.1 G-4.
Yesterday morning went to me Mac, G-4 was sleeping but I could not lite up the monitor. After a few attempts I went to reset and the monitor came back. Then I noticed ghost ? on the Dock where QuickTime, Sherlock, System Preferences once were!
After searching into the G-4 I found out to my horror that all traces of these functions are MIA, everything is gone!. Could not access the Internet of coarse without System Pref. There is no Disk Utility. So getting into OS9 was a feat in its self. Here I am in OS9 but I need to be in OSX! I was just going to inject some Tiger into it, now I am a stressed out pussy cat! Can you help me, please?!

I have tried to reinstall OS X but when it gets to "Select Destination" it won't let me proceed from that point. The disk icon will not highlight.

Also I ran a "Disk First Aid" in OS 9 and this came up,
error: invalid key lenght, 4 1047. Any idea what that might mean?

It's worth a try, but it sounds like your hard drive is on its way out. You may want to pull the drive and try a new one, because the more you try to use it the more data you may lose. If you have valuable data that can't be replaced, and you haven't made any recent backups, and if you can afford it, take the drive to a recovery specialist.
