Install QuickBooks 2006 on Virtual PC 7

No idea where else to post this, so help, please, if you can.

I have Virtual PC 7.0.2 with Windows XP running on a PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.3) with 1GB of RAM. I have 512 RAM allocated to Virtual PC. I was able to install and run QB 2004 and 2005 with no problem, but when I insert the disc for QB 2006, it does not appear on the Windows desktop, and I get an error that "QuickBooks Installation encountered a problem and needs to close."

Anyone have an idea what is going on, or a work-around?

have you attempted to use this CD on an actual PC? It might simply be a case of bad media. Take it to your local computer store and see what happens.

Found a solution

Thanks for your reply. I found a solution in an aside on some science blog:

Navigate to the disc via Windows Explorer
Open the folder QBBooks
double-click on the setup.exe within the QBBooks folder.

Install seemed to work just fine from there.
