| All of a sudden Handbrake just stalls... I was using Handbrake to rip DVDs (that I had purchased) to my mac. It goes well, until it gets to one chapter, it gets to about 95% and then stops. I left it for two hours and it hadn't moved a bit, this was on an 8 minute piece. So I cancelled and tried again, it just said "Encoding" and showed no progress for hours. I decided to try another chapter, same thing happened. Tried another DVD, same thing once again. Basically it won't do anything. The program doesn't crash, it responds normally, it just won't carry out any processes. I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.3, up to date. Thanks for any help.

| Take a look here: http://handbrake.m0k.org/faq.php I would Spotlight for handbrake and delete the associated .plist and try it again.

| Thanks for the suggestion; sadly it didn't work. I even tried ripping the contents from the DVD to the hard disk (using MacTheRipper) and then using that source, and the same thing happened.

| Might be version specific. Go to handbrake's forum to find newer alpha/beta versions. I remember I had this exact problem and couldn't solve it until I installed a newer beta of 0.7.

| Okay. Did you get rid of the .plist file?
