HELP me retrieve an AppleWorks doc

Hello!
It is my first time on this site and I have come because I cannot open a document that contains my entire book study, a project that I worked on for over a year

I created it using AppleWorks, and Text Edit won't open it. When I try to open it with Apple Works, and unexpected error #-1409 occurs.

I am acquiring a copy of BBedit and hopefully that works, but if anyone has any other suggestions, they are welcome.
