| AUDIO PLAY in finder or options? MAC LOVER but have a very frustrating issue. Im wanting to use the finder, to automatically play my sound libraries by just highlighting the sound file or by using the down arrow key to go through the sound clips quickly. I tunes is in control of my mp3 and aif files so, the only option I have had is to highlight the mp3 or aif and the click the play icon. Very time consuming, vs just scrolling through loops and being able to play quickly. I tried automator with play sound, but this is not an option as it wont allow me use down or up arrow to go through libraries. Wondering if there is software app that will manage sound libraries and automatically play these files or is there a way to use the finder via-quicktime or i tunes to set prefereces so that the aif or mp3 or wav will just play when rolling over from finder? Please I have just spent an hour trying to find a solution wasting my time with automator and finally submitting to some help from the forum. Would love to hear from as many as possible on options. Thank you. ![]() |

| Why not just drag and drop them into a new playlist in iTunes? That way you can scroll through them quickly by pressing Apple+Right Arrow from within iTunes. To my knowledge, there's no way to tell Finder to Autoplay a file. That would be a HUGE security threat.

| Any other ideas Randy, I had already tried your idea. The problem with this, is it creates another sound file into my local hardrive in the itunes export. So now its taking up space on my hardrive. If I have 5gb of sound libraries that is going to be moved overto my hardrive as well. Would be great if ITUNES would created playlist libraries from my sound libraries on external firewire drive. Is there a way to do this that Im missing? D |

| Yes, simply temporarily set iTunes' preferences to not copy the files to your iTunes music folder. Under "Advanced" in the preferences, UNcheck "Keep iTunes music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library"
