| Clicking on Mac Help results only in the help window opening without any response to links or typed questions. Spotlight brings up Help Viewer, with the path "System/Library/Core Services" and opens the Mac OS Help window, but no links work. What is the correct path? Is this my problem? Previously I unknowingly moved a library folder and lost Mac Help, email messages, address book, etc. I found that file in Spotlight and moved it to it's correct location, and all worked fine. (I think Mac help came back, but am not certain I tried it.) I appreciate any help you can give me. As a Mac newby I'm learning fast! |

| This post in the Apple Forums solved the problem for me http://discussions.apple.com/message...187323#1187323 There's more in that thread I've not read yet but start there. The only folder I've ever made read only (after deletion and recreation) is /Users/xxxxx/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpui/Mac Help and it's been working for quite a while. I'm running 10.4.5 and no updates have solved the problem yet. Last edited by simbalala; March 7th, 2006 at 03:09 PM. |
