Angry iChat AV using AIM screen name

I've used iChat AV with a trial version of .Mac and it works using my iSight camera. Now that the trial version has expired I registered an AIM screen name and attempted to use iChat AV again. I have a Mac Mini. When I invite my friends to videochat with me I get a message saying that I didn't respond. Man this is frustrating! I've spend hours and hours reading the tech support pages about firewalls and blocked ports, etc. But my built-in firewall is turned off! And I don't have a router. Just a cable modem. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.

Qion will become famous soon enough
Well... as far as I know... Video AIM (PC) to (Mac) doesn't work too hot.

And by doesn't work too hot, I mean not at all. Until AOL gets up to speed with the Mac codecs, I don't think we're going to see much change.

iChat AV problem

Thanks for the tips. But I still get the message that I didn't repond... to either my invitation to another Mac user to videochat, or when they invite me to chat! So it's a Mac-to-Mac problem, not a Mac-toPC problem. My internal firewall is off. I only have a 3COM cable modem. I have an AIM screen name. Coincidentally, I've had these problems using iChat AV since my trial .Mac account expired. I have an AIM screen name now ("karstplanet") It's a bit frustrating so I may just subscribe to .Mac. If knew that it would correct the problem. But from what I read I should be able to use AIM. Man this is frustrating! BTW, appleu3test01 works for me.

IChat AV problem

Well, my daughter is able to video with others, but only those who have a .Mac account. She's unable to videochat with my son and me. My son uses a camcorder and an AIM screen name...
