Undying DVD Player Closed Captioning

My DVD Player's closed captioning won't go away. I can change the background and transparency of the floating window under the captions, but I can't get them to go away. I've already tried multiple DVD's, replaced all of my .plist files, and tried every variablity in the DVD pref menu.

Help would be much appreciated.

i have found that with apple's dvd player and captions, that most of the time it requires you to goto the dvd's caption menu and turn them on/off from there to get them to work correctly. the contextual menu does not seem to have the power required to handle then correctly. i have considered it bad programing, but learned to live with it. powerdvd(which i use on my pc) can do all the dvd funtions from the contextual menus like i wish dvd player would.

Aha. Turning off Closed Captioning is Command+Option+T. I figured this out after you mentioned the caption menu. *sighs*

I guess I was just too stressed to notice another menu.
