| After having a few kernel panics my computer (dual 2.3 G5, os 10.4.5) refuses to boot up, getting stuck on the grey apple loading screen. I am able to boot up off of cds but disk utility fixed nothing, giving an error "invalid extent entry". I purchased DiskWarrior since I had read that others had been able to fix the problem this way but it gets hung up at the step 6; I ran it for about 13 hours and finally gave up since there was no progress. I am at my wit's end and have no further ideas for how to deal with this. An erase and install is out of the question since I have a lot that is not backed up. Please, someone... =( |

| Data Rescue has saved my butt on the few occasions when even Disk Warrior couldn't help. You'll need a secondary HD, though, since unlike Disk Warrior, Data Rescue will not repair your volume; it will just salvage the data and let you save it elsewhere. |
