Question QuickTime 7 video controls — Intel only?

There's a feature in QuickTime Player that I've been missing ever since upgrading to 7. Back in QT6, I could bring up brightness, contrast, and color controls and dynamically adjust them while playing a movie. In QT7, these controls are missing on my G4 Mac Mini.

But on Intel Mac Minis, all these features are back in the "A/V Controls" window. Why the disparity? Do any PPC users have these features? Do any Intel users NOT have these features? I'd really like to get them back.

Both machines I used had the same OS and QT versions (10.4.6 and 7.0.4 — the latest). My G4 Mini has QT Pro, while the Intel one does not. (I tried downgrading my copy to see if there was some weird bug that made the features only available to non-Pro users, but that didn't work.)

hmm, i don't know about the mini, but I don't see why it would make a difference... i have them on our PPC imac 2.1. I think it's just "command k" to bring up the A/V controls" I would probably try a reinstall.. yeh, even on my 1GHZ ppc powerbook they are there... I guess throw out the prefs and just due a little cleaning around QT. 10.4.6/Itunes/QT 7.1

How is this possible? The most recent version of QuickTime is QuickTime 7.0.4?

I found an article on Apple's support site that says these features are only available on Core Image-capable machines, which rules out my Mini. Never mind the fact that all these features worked just fine in QuickTime 6 long before Core Image ever existed....grrr...

By the way, even with QT7 installed, if you use QuickTime Player 6, you can access all of its features. I still use it now and then. The only problem is that it's missing all of version 7's new features, like speed control with dynamic pitch adjustment, which I've grown more attached to than the video controls.
