| DVD Player - could a player get any worse? Or maybe its the way it interacts with OS X 10.4.5. Some of the recent DVD's I rented play fine then freeze - that wouldn't be so bad except it freezes DVD Player and I can't quit it. Sometimes the whole computer locks up. Is there another player out there for playing DVD's?  |

| Mplayer and VLC (VideoLan Client) are two other options for playing DVDs, though your problems sound like they are caused by either scratched discs or a failing DVD drive.
