Trying to use Digi 001 for midi

Can anyone help me to understand what this error message is telling me, and how it can be corrected.

"Kext has a kernel dependency prior to version 6.0 and CFBundleVersion does not match executable's MODULE_VERSION."
DigiIO:

Version: DigiIO version 6.2.2
Last Modified: 5/31/06 12:41 PM
Get Info String: DigiIO version 6.2.2, Copyright 2003 Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology, Inc.
Location: /System/Library/Extensions/DigiIO.kext
kext Version: 6.2.2
Loaded: No
Valid: No
Validity Errors: Kext has a kernel dependency prior to version 6.0 and CFBundleVersion does not match executable's MODULE_VERSION
Authentic: Yes
Dependencies: Satisfied

I want to use Digi 001 hardware for midi in/out only. I do not plan on running Pro Tools. The "Validity Error" message shows up when Pro Tools is installed and when it isn't. Once the software is installed--whatever version--it's there even if the hardware is not attached through the serial port. Digi 001 does not have firewire or usb.

Hardware Overview:

Machine Model: Power Mac G4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (2.1)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 800 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
Memory: 768 MB
Bus Speed: 133 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 4.3.3f2
Serial Number: XB2170JUMK9
Sales Order Number: M8705LL/A

I am using a Korg i3 keyboard, but I don't think that contributes to the error message.
