Quicktime 7.1.1 quits on launch

Hi
My Quicktime 7.1.1 quits on launch every time. I have trashed the preferences and done a clean install... anyone have any ideas or know if this is a common problem with this release?

Running 10.4.6 on a dual 2.3ppc
