Unhappy Why are games running so slow in my Intel Mac, in the beginning when I open them?

First of all, I am running an iMac 20", 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 128MB ATi Radeon X1600, and my operation system is Mac OS X 10.4.7 (Tiger)...

When I open games on my Mac, usually they run a bit slow at the beginning... and then after a minute they get better. and of course, I close all the programs b4 going to play my games. I usually play Jedi Outcast and The Sims 2.

Why are games running so slow in my Intel Mac, in the beginning when I open them?

Thanks, any help will be appreciated...

Gab

I believe we already answered those questions for you in the other two threads you started. Goes back to Rosetta unless you're running Universal Binaries.

No offense, but please refrain from posting questions to which the answer is pretty much the same. Have you tried googling for answers before posting here? How about the search module on the forum. It's possible that any questions you might have may have probably already been answered in an older thread.

Thanks.

There are three downsides inherent to PPC apps on Intel machines:

1. They run slower than native apps.
2. They use more RAM than native apps.
3. They take much longer to load than native apps.

If you're talking about Intel-native games, more details of when and how it slows down would be helpful.

By the way, you might want to create a signature with your system info in it. That way you won't need to bother specifying it with every post.

Oh, I guess he has disabled signatures. I've been using the new beta forum, which still supports signatures, so I didn't know. So you can either start using the beta forum too, or just wait until this all gets ironed out.
