image corruption from HP Digital Camera

Hi there.

i am new to the site but desperate for help as i cannot find the answer to my problem anywhere at the moment.
i have been trying to get images from my HP camera to my MAC but they are always corrupted with coloured segments across the images etc. I have tried a card reader but the result is the same and i have also tried the other USB ports on the machine but no joy.

if i connect it to a friends mac or my friends PC the pictures are perfect so there is something obvioulsy wrong with the MAC. Mine is the only machine where there is a problem. Both my friend and my MAC are both PowerMac G5's I have done all the usual things like repairing disk permissions and have even reinstalled Tiger but still no joy.

The only things i have connected to the MAC now are a card reader and my printer and Harmon Kardon speakers and a Firewire external drive.

I am desperate as i need these images for a client project that has its deadline looming - can anyone help this poor designer out at all?

Thanks
Lisa

only 9 views and no suggestions.
I guess no one seems to know what this is then?

Oh well, thanks anyway.

This is the 10th site i have registered on today and no one knows on any of them. I cant believe that i am the only person who has had this problem.

I guess Macs aren't so perfect after all.

Well, Jesus Christ, sweetheart, keep your panties on!
Often, it takes a while 'till someone with an idea about your issue replies....be patient.

Immature or not this is costing me a fortune and if you had spent as much time as me trying to sort this ridiculous problem out you might feel the same way. I am a freelancer and i really dont have the time to waste sorting this out.

how about offering a suggestion rather than having a go. Give me a break will ya!
