Angry Need help installing Indian fonts for Safari or Firefox

Hi,
I have been a PC user for a long time and a recent convert to MAC. I use the new powerbook pro running Os X 10.4.6.

I was trying to install some Indian fonts so that I can read webpages in those languages with either Safari or Firefox.

I installed the fonts successfully using the add font feature in Font Book. But whatever I do either of these browsers cont seem to be able to decode the webpages. I cant see the new font in the Text encoding lists in either browser.

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks

If you mean switching your language, then here's what to do:
- > Go to the Apple menu.
- > System Preferences
- > International (Dark blue flag with a white globe on it)
- Then drag your preferred language to the top of the list.
- If your language doesn't appear in the list, click the "Edit List" button and check the boxes for which languages you want to use.
- You can set all kinds of settings for your language in the International System Preference, I encourage you to explore.

Thanks for the response.
Yes I did mean switching the language. I have explored what you mentioned. There are some Indian languages there, but unfortunately the language that I was looking for is not on the "Edit list". Is there a way to add new languages to this master list ?

Unfortunately, the only thing I can think of at the moment is to reinstall OS X and make sure it installs the appropriate language. OS X supports a butt load of languages, so I would imagine that it should support yours.
